Cane Bay lies on St. Croix’s north shore and is a great beach with warm white sands and light blue waters. You’ll find a couple bars and restaurants along the beach which make for idyllic settings to eat a meal or enjoy a nice cocktail. Cane Bay is a great place for swimming, with waters which aren’t too rocky or packed with seaweed or sea grass.
Cane Bay is famous especially for its snorkeling and scuba diving – in fact the island is rated one of the best places in the Caribbean for scuba diving. The Cane Bay Wall, the drop-off point just beyond the beach, is frequented by scuba divers. At a depth of 3,200 feet, it makes for some excellent deep sea diving. You can take a boat with your scuba equipment (available for rent) out to the drop-off and enter a fabulous natural world filled with eels, shrimp, the occasional nurse shark, and a wide variety of fish. Try your hand at underwater photography if you’re feeling up to it!
