Located on the east end of St. Croix, Chenay Bay Beach is truly spectacular. It’s technically owned by the Chenay Bay Beach Resort, but is open to the public. The sea grass close to the shoreline is frequented by sea turtles, starfish, and conch, and it’s a good beach for children because the water is shallow and gentle.
It’s an ideal location for snorkeling, kayaking, and other water sports. For when you get hungry, you’ll find a bar and restaurant along the edge of the beach. There are also restroom facilities. If you’re not staying at the resort but purchase drink or food from its restaurant, you’ll be allowed to use some of the chairs which lie on the white sands. If you do stay at the resort, your room is one of the pleasant cottages up the hill from the beach. Fall asleep each night to the gentle sound of the waves rolling in and out.
