Among St. Thomas’s many pristine beaches is Morning Star Beach. Technically this beach is part of the local Marriott Resort, but it can still be used by people not staying there. Its official name is Marriot Frenchman’s Reef Resort and Morning Star Beach, but obviously just Morning Star Beach is much easier to say! It’s about a ten-minute drive south of Charlotte Amalie and overlooks the beautiful Charlotte Amalie Harbor.
Morning Star Beach’s golden-brown sands are well-maintained by the Marriot staff and are lined with plenty of umbrellas and chairs for if you want to have a picnic (or just need some shade). Jet skis, kayaks, and paddle boards are all available for rent here. You can also get snorkeling gear and floaters from the hotel.
The waters here are a bit more “wavy” than those of some of St. Thomas’s other beaches, which could be a good thing if you’re a fan of wave pools, but it’s still great for swimming or just floating around. A few bars and restaurants, such as Coco Joe’s or Blue Havana, dot the beach for when you get hungry or need a refreshing drink.
