Located on the west end of St. Croix, near Frederiksted, Rainbow Beach is the ideal place to take a load off and bask in the Caribbean sun. It’s a great beach for swimming, with very few rocks. Snorkeling is also popular here, though most visitors and inhabitants agree there are better places on the island for snorkeling. It tends to become crowded later in the day, but this doesn’t detract from its charm.
What kind of charm? Consider, for instance, the restaurant Rhythms. Rhythms at Rainbow Beach is one of the most popular locales in Frederiksted and it sits right on the beach. You’ll have great views with a delicious cocktail and live music in this very relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant also rents out beach chairs. As for shade, you’ll have to get to the beach before the crowds do in order to stake your claim – there’s not too much available. Kayaks and jet skis are available for rent for those interested in water sports.
